PhD Candidate Hengjie Chen Attends the CSIAM Youth Forum

The CSIAM Youth Forum was successfully held at Huazhong Agricultural University in Wuhan from August 28 to 30, 2026. Hosted by the China Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (CSIAM), University of Science and Technology of China, and the Youth Talent Program Society of CSIAM, the forum was jointly undertaken by the School of Information, Huazhong Agricultural University and the School of Mathematics and Statistics, Hubei Normal University. Focusing on cutting-edge intersections of applied mathematics and artificial intelligence, the forum brought together young scholars from universities and research institutes nationwide to deliver keynote speeches, thematic presentations and carry out academic discussions on disciplinary frontiers, key scientific problems and interdisciplinary applications.

The forum featured 4 invited keynote talks and 49 special academic presentations, covering mathematical theories and algorithms of artificial intelligence, optimization for deep learning, high-performance scientific computing, inverse problems and imaging technologies. It showcased the latest research advances at the intersection of mathematics and artificial intelligence. At the opening ceremony, representatives of the organizer delivered speeches. Professor Meng Deyu introduced the youth talent cultivation programs and serial academic events of CSIAM, building an exchange platform for young researchers.

Chen Hengjie, member of our laboratory, participated in the forum in Wuhan. During the conference, he attended keynote lectures and thematic presentations by experts and young scholars. He exchanged ideas with peers across the country on research topics of applied mathematics and artificial intelligence, learned about the latest progress of this field, broadened academic horizons and gained inspirations for future research.

This academic activity reflects the laboratory’s initiative to encourage students to engage in high-level academic exchanges. It helps students keep track of research frontiers and promote external academic communication.
